Bbarlett, your comments are confusing. You say the Riders don't "own" O'Donnell, then later say they can trade his rights. So, effectively, with reguard to playing in the CFL, the Riders DO "own" O'Donnell.

Aside from that issue though; teams are very cautious with the draft, they don't want to waste a pick on an individual that has plans to do something else, this would suggest the O'Donnell was less than forth comming about his future plans. Every other GM in the league will have serious doubts about this kid now: How badly does he really want to play? How dedicated will he be to us? Obviously he want to go south, why should we spend time and money to develop a player that does not want to be here? CFL teams can not thow away money on the hope that a player might change his mind and decide to stay.

How many second round CFL draft selections have made it in the NFL?

ESPN3 coverage is simply massive for US CFL fans, many parts of the US do not receive NFLN and if one wishes to watch the games HD streaming is the way to go and ESPN does a great job of having the games accessible.

When commish Cohen took over the job he mentioned a couple of things he wanted to accomplish:

-get the CFL on NFLN
-institute stronger drug testing
-get rid of less then quality advertisements on unis and fields

FWIW, CFL's numbers on NFLN:

80k, the Arena League draws about 92k and Vs's UFL about 78k, that is the next step.

What a bunch of crap. Saskatchewan does not "own" O'Donnell even if they have drafted him. If they or their fans think an unsigned player owes them anything, they are full of themselves. Let the young guy find his own way and try out things that interest him. Sask can always trade his rights away.

Thanks Michael! Its just fantasy football and I have yet to see a perfect ranking list in all the years I have played. Nobody totally agrees with anyones list. But to answer your questions.

1. Terrence Edwards was 5th in fantasy football points per game last year among receivers playing 13 games or more. Has to put up big numbers again this year with Jeffers-Harris and Poblah looking to get involved. Could rise in next rankings but Pierces health hurts his ranking right now.

2. SJ Green is lower than those above him because of low catch totals. He had 58. Most of those above him had at least 75. His fantasy impact came in TDs and to get higher he needs to increase catch total, which would increase yards. Or increase TD total which is tough to ask.

3. Greg Carr - I'll give you there is alot of interest in Carr. He will be on my top sleepers list before the season.He burst on scene last year in first 4 games. Production really fell off last 3 games.

4. Marquay McDaniel will likely drop as he has been fighting in camp to get his touches. Depending on what happens in camp and roster he may face a big drop in his ranking. But for now, 76 catches 994 yards and 7 TDs is tough to argue against.

5. Paris Jackson had come off 2 consecutive 76 catch 1000 yard 8 TD seasons. Totals dropped last year as he was hampered by injury. Risk/reward pick but a steal at 14 if healthy.

6. Adarius Bowman was one of toughest guys to rank. Drops hurt him. 50 catches, 691 yards and 3 TDs in just 11 games are nice fantasy football numbers though.Those numbers put him 11th in PPG of receivers how played 10 games or more last year. Could see alot of action in Eskimos receiving core.

7. Steven Black had 3 games last season in which he had over 45 yards receiving. In those 3 games he had 227 yards. In his other 7 games played? 143 yards. Needs consistency to move up in rankings.

These are the first rankings I've looked at and I have to say, they're pretty brutal. You rank Edwards (who had more yards than anyone on the list in 2010) lower because of added talent in the receiving core even though you have their next best receiver ranked 13th. YET three Stamps in the top 10?

Why is SJ Green so low? Why is Greg Carr so low?

Why is Marquay McDaniel so high? He might not even make his team.

Paris, Bowman above Greg Carr and Steven Black? Be serious.

Agreed. But missing the majority of training camp and one preseason game over silly endeavors and contract disputes has to have Roughrider management questioning holding one of the limited practice roster spots for a developmental prospect, who may or may not really want to be there, over a young Olineman who has been there working hard and learning the system.

O'Donnell was a project already though, his height let alone the need to become physically stronger meant as soon as he was drafted he was a 2-3 yr guy imo, so missing this time really is not that huge of an issue.

Yes. Chances of roster spot are greatly diminished though. Still needs to beat out guys like Dan Clark, Hutchins, Devin Tyler or Krausnick-Groh for one, maybe two limited practice roster spots. And he will miss the most important preseason game for young Olineman that the others will play in this weekend.

He is going to wind up on the practice squad anyway, whether he comes into camp last week or next week, young Olinemen rarely play early to begin with.

A week behind for a developmental prospect who needs teahing on proper footwork and technique is major. Coaching staff has basically stated as much.

On 46 man roster and 42 man gameday roster? Unlikely a team would hold a spot for him. When teams usually carry 2 backups. Frenette gets one backup spot on OL as long snapper. Hudson and Hutchins likely the the other.

Like I said. He will be lucky to be earn a spot on practice roster if they ask.

Kid got roasted at the shrine game, didn't even belong there - Muamba is who should have been chosen. Yet he still believes that he can play in the NFL, get a grip. He's not half the athlete the Reinders was last year and he didn't stick with the Browns. If I were the Riders I'd cut him, he is not even that good, just really big and playing with the yard.
